This is just a quick  note to inform you  when and where we will be hanging out the bunting and offering tender and tasty morsels of slow cooked brisket in the anticipation that you might order another delicious meat box. We spent 2 busy days at the Axminster Show where we were delighted to share a taste of our beef with so many new people. Your responses to our carefully produced meat and the ‘meat box’ concept were very positive and it’s always nice to have the opportunity to talk to interested people about the way our farm collective works. We hope that the memory of our tasty, tender meat remains with you and that as soon as you have freezer space you will offer us the opportunity of refilling with more, locally produced, high quality meat to suit your requirements. Thank you to everyone who took time out of their ‘Show’ day to chat with us and we hope to speak to you again soon.

Honiton Show, Thursday 6th August.

Our regular markets at Dunkeswell Village Hall and Hemyock Village Hall will continue throughout the year on the 2nd and 3rd Saturday of each month respectively between 10 am and 12.

Our products are also available at MVF Cullompton, Churchinford Shop, Highfield Stores (Dunkeswell) or the Strand Stores in Culmstock.


If you haven't heard from me in a while, I apologise. I will endeavour to send more regular e-mails and if you are really keen to keep up-to-date with news of special offers and goings-on on the farm then please follow me on twitter and Facebook. I'm not exactly prolific on social media, but I am endeavouring to share what I think you might like to see.

 It’s a beautiful time of year in Culm Davy with vivid summer colours and the spectacle of lambs bouncing in the occasional ray of sunshine! We enjoyed a fortunate lambing season, the weather while the lambs were very young was particularly kind and all mums and newborns were able to enjoy the early April sunshine. We did have one extraordinary delivery day. A Caesarean was performed and live triplets emerged, not to be outdone the ewe in the neighbouring pen, produced quads! Purely by coincidence, the ewe that had to have the Caesarean was number 13! The sheep have just had their winter woolies removed in time for the expected heat wave! Sky ( Ben's pup) enjoyed watching and was very keen to help!



As you can see you have a new apprentice on the farm, Ben is responsible for her training. Currently the pair of them spend more time playing than working!

I thought I’d share an idea for a delicious sandwich Ben made for me recently.Strips of our minute steak marinated in balsamic vinegar, yeast extract, mustard, honey, smoked paprika.  Ben rustled this up in only a few minutes and placed on a bed of crispy lettuce and thinly sliced tomatoes.   This sandwich was a real surprise and tasted as good as it looks!  I will keep you informed of any new recipes Ben comes up with. I’m sure he will have his imagination stirred while he is on his work experience placements at River Cottage HQ and the Castle Hotel in Taunton.
