Event Overview

Most leadership models come from the USA. As a result, they all make implicitly or explicitly the same assumption: What works well for Americans works well in the rest of the world. In other words, being a good leader means the same thing to everyone around the world – we just have to find the right formula in the US and then apply it everywhere else.

The latest American election clearly demonstrates that this does not hold water. If citizens of other countries had cast their ballots, Donald Trump would not be sitting in the White House. Being a good leader means at times very different things depending on the cultural backgrounds of the people who will follow you.

This interactive session is designed for anyone who leads or wants to lead culturally diverse groups, because the organization they lead is culturally diverse, global or both. It explores how cultural differences impact several critical elements of leadership, such as introducing change, managing projects, helping teams reach their full potential, making decisions and managing conflicts. By combining powerful diagrams, insightful anecdotes, practical tools, and a group discussion on the nature of leadership, this interactive session helps participants determine how they can adapt their approach to leadership in order to increase their influence on the culturally different people they want to lead – be they clients or employees.

Space is limited, please RSVP with Christina Obeng at mississauga@verityintl.com or 905.507.8812 before May 24th. We look forward to seeing you there!
