From the Director's Desk
So far this year we have welcomed several new staff members including two engineers, a marketing officer, and our friendly new receptionist. We have also been busy with ongoing projects for Harristown High School, Queensland Rail and both Toowoomba Regional Council and Southern Downs Regional Council. Our scope of works has ranged across railway infrastructure upgrades, flood repairs, roadworks and drainage installation. Needless to say, we have been busy!

As always, we have also continued to upgrade and add to our fleet of machinery and invest into the training of our staff. This is so we can be sure to give our clients the best service possible.

So far this year we have welcomed two new additions to our fleet of plant machinery. We are also expecting two new Excavators soon.

Level Best Laser Grader Attachment

The Level Best automated laser grader attachment can be attached to a skid steer and used for those tight spaces where a full-size grader just won't fit.

With its laser / GPS attachment allowing for precision grading to within 2.54mm, we know that it is the right choice for those jobs that require accurate trimming in small areas.

New Water Truck

Our new 28,000 litre Water Tanker is hard at work on a major roadworks construction site. Its large water storage capacity allows us to spray a much larger area before it requires refilling, which has been a great time-saver.

All our operational staff are SARC Certified
We often get feedback about the quality and skill of our workforce This is no accident, we invest heavily in training our staff so that we can provide capable and skilled workers who know what they are doing on our customers' worksites. Our latest round of training has seen our entire operational workforce gain Rail Safety Awareness training and certification. This is an example of job-specific training we provide as the need arises, and is on top of our regular, ongoing training schedule. Here's just some of our team with their certificates.

Current Project: Harristown High School Car Park
JWG was appointed principal contractor for the construction of a new carpark at Harristown High School.

This job is in the final stages of completion and has included earthworks; drainage; the design and construction of a retaining wall; and concrete footpaths.

The design of the retaining wall provided a challenge as we had to come up with a way to incorporate fencing at the top of the wall for safety.

Safety is always part of our focus, but even more so on a school site where we have the wellbeing of students and staff to consider.

Photos: Clearing site, and almost completed.
