MARCH 2017
From the Director's Desk
After an enjoyable break over Christmas, 2017 is set to be a big year for Joe Wagner Group. We’ve had the busiest start in our 32-year history with a number of new projects kicking off, major storm water works continuing on the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing, and various plant and labor hire projects continuing for our long term customers.

I would like to congratulate Jack Sharpe on recently completing his Bachelor of Civil Engineering; our busy start to the year means JWG now has a number of new faces across the team, I believe the new staff will add some great enthusiasm and experience to the team and assist JWG to provide exceptional service and delivery to our customers.

JWG Skills and Experience - Key in Delivering Challenging Projects.
Joe Wagner Group recently completed civil works for Hutchinson Builders on stage 1 of the Springfield Aged Friendly Community. The scope of work for this project included; bulk earthworks, construction of storm water infrastructure, construction of detention basin, concrete and asphalt pavements, kerb and channel, footpaths and concrete driveway crossovers.
Dave, Wayne and the team worked extremely hard to deliver this project without any interruption to the building construction; maintaining access for delivery trucks and working with many other construction trades, regular 40+ degree heat and excavating very hard rock some of the many challenges encountered during this project.
A great effort from everyone involved – well done!

Liam and his crew recently assisted Fulton Hogan with the replacement of the German Creek (Drayton) and Kings Creek (Clifton) Rail Bridges. The bridge replacements were undertaken during rail shutdown periods. To reduce construction timeframes and meet tight deadlines precast concrete modular units were utilised. Due to the complex nature of the project Joe Wagner Group was engaged to provide skilled and experienced team of 20 rail construction specialists included labour, operators and supervisors. The team performed extremely well working day and night in challenging environments to deliver the project in time for handover, great work team!

Komatsu Ltd. has formed an alliance with Topcon Corporation to develop GPS Machine Control systems with unprecedented accuracy and data capture capability..
Komatsu Ltd is at the forefront of construction and mining equipment market and Topcon is an international leader in the field of the construction survey and data collection. A partnership between the two seemed certain to deliver something special, and after many years of fine tuning the Intelligent Machine Control (IMC) technology is exclusive to a limited range of excavators and bulldozers now released in Australia.

The IMC offers aims to improve productivity, efficiency and guarantee quality. The system is factory fitted by Komatsu and utilises hydraulic sensors over the conventional bucket and boom mounted GPS sensors - this technology eliminates sensor damage and offers real time, no delay displays to the operator.

Joe Wagner Group now offers a range of excavators and dozers equipped with the IMS system, if you’d like to discuss this industry leading technology for you next project please do not hesitate to give our office a call!

JWG - Social Circles
Joe Wagner Group recently supported Sel’s XI at the Warwick Australia Day 20/20 Cricket Carnival. The team included a few of Joe Wagner Group’s best athletes Ashley ‘Big Thunder’ and Aaron ‘Burgo’ making their debut for the team. Unfortunately for Sel’s XI, Burgo was the top scorer in the first game and the team is still being reminded of this and his ‘glorious cut shot that went for four runs’

A great weekend was enjoyed by all and we are already looking forward to next year.
